My imagined government: fit these guys into the leadership vacuum left by the president and his cabinet:
Albert Gore, John Edwards, Henry Waxman, Bernie Sanders, Patrick Leahey, Russ Feingold, Max Cleland, Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, David Walker, Joseph Cirincione, Robert Kennedy Jr., Thom Hartmann, Paul Krugman, gavel-man John Conyers...
We have plenty of qualified people to lead this nation, so ask yourself... why are we stuck with the cast of characters we get?
LATER: I saw Elizabeth Edwards up close and in action, speaking in Flint, Michigan, during the Kerry-Edwards campaign and listened to the interaction between Elizabeth and John Edwards on the podcasts they made during the years afterward. John Edwards grew as a humanitarian and never quit sharpening his political skills. Hope he doesn't quit.
My heart goes out to the Edwards family. This is the time when reality based people wish for miracles.
