the failure of capitalism

A friend and I were trying to figure out how we would define our politics. When I said the word socialism, she nearly choked on the word. We have been propagandized.

Europeans are not afraid of the word socialism.
They even use it in their political parties. They say it out loud.
And they have superior health care systems, where more people are served. Their economies are not dependent on militarism.

Along the same vein, this morning I woke to the Morning Report on NPR juxtapositioning executive bonuses, the huge record breaking compensation given to the head of Morgan Stanley (WTF did he do? hold back a tsunami with his Superman body and save three thousand lives? invent a vaccine for war fever?), with the new reporting requirement for executive compensation, with the meager retirement savings of the majority of Americans.

Of course the stock market is doing well, these precious Richie Rich's can't use another estate or yacht, and how much fine wine, thick steak, and French vacations can a human consume? Just park that bonus in the biz.

This is going on while most Americans are so propagandized that they fail to save for their own future, overspend when prompted by the media, and automatically stand up and salute, even as the GOP Reptiles work in the dark at destroying the social safety net that created what we called a middle class.
Remember Prez Dubya's "60 town meetings in 60 days" to privatize Social Security? Adding a layer of profit and confusion that will only gyp the People and serve these same financial elites, a F*%#K not a Fix. Sowing the seeds of doubt about the most successful program Americans ever brought to the people.

The juxtaposition of executive with average was a beacon.
It is the failure of capitalism, illustrated.
Many more humans suffer under our system of wage slavery and deregulation piracy that is now being described as predatory capitalism.
Socialism is NOT a dirty word.
Capitalism fails because it is essentially not good. It is predatory. It is a drug pusher. It murders, one way or another. While singing anthems and waving flags, and claiming the authorship of God.
