Maybe there is someone in charge who's talked to a psychiatrist, who thinks holding back a bit might be wiser than going up full tilt against the warped national psyche after all. The British plane plot, and the Miami seven, and the cell phone buying cases may all be ways that our leadership could be EVOKING the physical responses to 9-11, with the anniversary and television dramatization reduxes(?) reinforcing our visceral responses. Maybe it is sufficient to replay the fear I talked about yesterday, that is imprinted in the "American Psyche", as Dubya mentioned recently.
Maybe the response elicited from the revived memories will be enough to sway the middle third to join the 'weekly walmart voters' (a Zogby- identified group who sticks with Dubya through thick and thin and still believes Saddam is AlQ'eida and Iraq had WMDs) to call for war on Iran.

And you think maybe the Democrats will stand up to a war on Iran? Hah, Fat Chance with all of their allegiance to the Israeli lobby. The so-called anti-war Ned Lamont that the bloggers are crazy about, has anyone understood where he'll stand when Israel's enemy Iran is the target?

So, with or without a ginned up terrorist incident, and with no opposition from the DLC, here is when the screw up begins...

The Pentagon strikes with air power first... drop bunker busters on the 10 or so hidden and fortified targets where intel has determined the nukes are being made (hey, it doesn't matter that they will get enough fissionable material in an estimated 10 years. Who wants to hold off for ten years? Someone might have the bright idea to use diplomacy in Ten F'ing Years.)

But the Iranians have already figured for that play, and the bunkers are, duh, hidden and fortified. Maybe we can't destroy them with bunker busters (we are dropping bunker busters on an earthquuake fault - hows that for morality, all you Christian voters?) Maybe we don't find ALL of the bunkers.

We INTENTIONALLY set ourselves up for failure, so that we can pull out the big toys. The neocon pundits are panting like bitches in heat over getting to do what ALL the rednecks have spouted for the past lifetime: "Nuke 'em". (Remember when they said it about Nam and about Afganistan, and about Iraq.)

So America nukes a million people. FOX and military manufacturer GE-owned ABC and National Propaganda Radio won't show the bad bits, the burned folk, the bloody ignorant blindly destructive trail of Shiva the Destroyer (as Oppenheimer called the bomb).
The moral relativists among our pundits may say "Oh, but they were fanatical Islamo-fascists..." (that's the meme straight from the top) ignoring our own religious fanaticism and our own aggression.
The moral relativists among our pundits may say, also, that a quick death by nuclear bomb is better than a slow death by sanctions, a slow death from depleted uranium from conventional bombs we would have been forced to drop, or the slow death of living under the yoke of tyranny (that's a meme straight from the top, too), ignoring the fact that their land is not being bombed for our leaders' tyranny and their children are not being given the choice of NO choice.
Why don't the pundits strap on the nukes and take them over themselves if the think sudden death is so preferable to life.
I thought they professed to a belief in "life".

But here is where the script gets really screwed up.
Here is where the Neocons really SCREW the pooch.
We have a large number of our sons and daughters in the nation, albeit broken nation, right next door. The leader of Iran (I tell you, he doesn't sound crazy on C-Span speaking for an hour last night, no matter what the meme is) tells the Shiites in Iraq to quit fighting the Sunni in a civil war and bring their worst to the American troops on the ground.
Our kids will finally get the hot war they were battleground baptized for. They may be sitting ducks. Their supply lines may be cut.
Remember, a lot of Sunni and Kurds are pissed at us for what we've done there as well. And the Hezbolls up north were not disarmed in the proxy war.
And the Iranians, fourth largest oil exporter in the world may shut down the shipping lanes in the Straits of Hormuz.

And no one really thinks that we are safer at home. The dirty suitcase bombs could be here, brought in through Dubai Ports operated ports, where 2-5 percent of shipping containers have been inspected since September 11, 2001.

But the bill, oh the bill we will pay for all of the Neocon's wet dreams.

The only up side for the rich Neocons in power, is that we will have raised the price of oil from the 19-20 dollar range it was when George W. Bush "took" office, to over a hundred dollars a barrel. Frisking the corpse.
