executive pay increases...and the torture continues

Good News!
Oh, wait a minute.
The deficit is NOT lower, it is lower than the administration's own PREVIOUS PROJECTIONS, which were higher than the projections by the OMB. I'm a midwestern housewife, and I already had that one predicted. Liars have always been good at misusing figures, and this is ONE BUNCH of LIARS.
They overestimated their figures 6 months ago planning just for this day's Happy News, which the MSM and NPR's Day to Day will call an "improvement in the economy."
Duh.
BTW, bubbies, they don't even include Bush's War on Iraq in the 'regular budget'.
Sorry for all of the CAPS.
yes, i was shouting.

More Good News!
Boy golly gee, NPR's reporter is speaking quite slowly and carefully. Have you noticed when they do that, too?
Tony SnowWhite says today's Pentagon directive claiming compliance with the Geneva Conventions 'Common Article 3' is not a reversal of whatever it was the White House has said before. After all, these are prisoners of war and 'we don't torture' depending on how you define torture, of course.
But didn't Dubya say these are not prisoners of war because they are enemy combatants, so he didn't need to follow Geneva? But didn't he say he has power given to him by the Patriot Act to suspend all other citizens' rights and the ancient right of habeus corpus and the right to a speedy trial, and the even Uniform Military Code of Justice and all previous laws and treaties and humanity because we are at war?

What the Hell did he say?
Is Dubya eating his cake and having it too?
Is that legal?
Whoops, there is no law when the president become the king, except the king's law.
