Juneteenth - please, don't be fooled again

What do the years 1865 (Texas), 2000 (Florida), and 2004 (Ohio) have in common?

Seems like somebody is always trying to steal from the poor black American: his labor, her dignity, their votes.

I'll be marching this afternoon in the Juneteenth parade in Flint, for this very reason. Solidarity is not just reserved for labor unions. We can all stand up and show support for the good causes we share.

I'll blog more tomorrow on this subject, but you can read the history of Juneteenth here.

When I hear the Michigan voter rolls are being "cleaned up", I wonder who is doin' the cleaning...

If the Dems could win Congress, just think! Wouldn't it be GREAT if John Conyers had the gavel and Charles Rangel had the purse strings? Then Congress might grow a backbone!
