housekeeping

A few items I have been delinquent in posting:

That collection of recordings of live concert performances from the past - featuring places like the Fillmore Auditorium and times like the '60's is at Wolfgang's Vault. Click on Vault Radio for the streaming audio.

I bought my "Impeach Bush" yard sign from someone at the Jobs rally in Lansing, but it says on the sign that you can order through their website (download an order form) at www.impeachbushyardsigns.org
Or, they are available at a lot of stores in Ann Arbor. The group is trying to earn enough to put up an "Impeach Bush" billboard.

After hearing Lila speak last week, and posting a tribute to Gold Star Mothers for Peace yesterday, I knew I should find out a little more about them on the 'net. Here are some of the more informative sites I found today:
The official name of the "families of military for peace" organization is Gold Star Families for Peace.
Be sure you don't get tangled up with the trademark Gold Star Families (FOR War, apparently): it seems to be a strange phenomenon that some people send their children off to fight war, receive them home in a box, and can't figure out that they've been robbed of their most precious treasure! Maybe its easier and less hurtful to sleepwalk through history.

If you think I am being harsh, try to understand, please, the Flag Is Not a gag or a blindfold. The best patriot is one who demands the best of his country: truth, liberty, equality and justice. And no country is more important than a conscience.
(And speaking of conscience, I was glad to see another of our progressives show up at the Saturday night screening of Sophie Scholl, The Last Days.)
We in America are nowhere near truth, liberty, equality, and justice yet. And we are slipping down the slippery slope under the present system.

Wikipedia's article has some background, mentioning Lila. Lila has been discussed on Michael Moore's website, too, in reference to his movie, Fahrenheit 9-11.

I should also post Military Families Speak Out, and Veterans For Peace. I personally like the spyed upon Quaker organization, the American Friends Service Committee. Finally, Cindy Sheehan is in Washington D.C. this weekend for a Mother's Day vigil with Code Pink.

Finally, I know Al Gore would have READ the Presidential Daily Briefings, himself.
(this Youtube video of Al Gore on SNL is a chuckle. But half the time it isn't showing up on the blog where I posted it. You can also find it at:
