Free Association Day 2 - What Do You Mean, I Have to Think Up a Title a Day

I copied and pasted this note for myself a month ago:

3-16-06 "Meanwhile, no one seems to care anymore when our soldiers get killed in Iraq. The total is now 2,299.That is now more than the War of 1812 (2,260), and closing in on the Spanish-American War (2,456). Hopefully we'll be out before we hit the levels of the American Revolutionary War (4,435)." (Sorry, don't recall where the quote came from.)

That is a count of "volunteered to die" soldiers, not of ordinary other people who were minding their own business going about their own lives. Not counting the million or so Iraqis who died during the first so-called Gulf War, the double-crossed Shia rebellion, the sanctions, the tortures of the puppet regime, the so-named Shock and Awe of OIF (revised from OIL), the flattening of the city of mosques- Fallujah, the undeclared civil war... and on and on goes the litany of agony and suffering we manage to create.

And, you said, for what?

What would we feel about a country who pre-emptively invaded us, for false so-called reasons? Are "we" planning another invasion?

You know, George, those numbers never go down, they only accumulate. And the price of oil has tripled since you "took" office.
Just get out now. Declare Victory and Leave, like we did in Viet-raq. Don't wait for 55,000 more soldiers to die.
